Worldwide, crores of people travel from one place to another place through Air Service. Air travel is considered to be the safest and fastest. However, what happens when the aircraft door flies in the air during the flight and the seats inside the plane start flying. It makes the soul tremble wondering what will pass on the passengers sitting on the plane during this time. But a similar incident happened today, 31 years ago today. When the plane from Los Angeles going to Sydney flew into the air door. Nine people died in this air crash. However, the aircraft immediately returned to the airstrip, causing hundreds of lives on board.
On 24 February 1989, a United Airlines flight flew from Los Angeles (Sydney) to Sydney. The aircraft had 337 people and 18 crew members. During the flight, it was to stay in Honolulu, Hawaii, after which it had to fly forward. During the flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, there were no problems on the plane. The situation was normal and people were sitting comfortably in their seats. The aircraft reached Honolulu and the flight crew felt some difficulty in it. After this, some changes were made in it.
Passengers started flying in the sky outside the plane
The aircraft once again began its journey from Honolulu, Hawaii to Sydney. In view of the stormy weather, the pilot asked all the passengers on the plane to tie the seat. The pilot increased the speed of the aircraft and upon seeing it reached an altitude of 23 thousand feet. Then the flight crew heard a loud noise. Only after a few seconds, the cargo door of the aircraft flew into the air. The door moved rapidly into the air and crashed into the main part of the aircraft. A strong gust of wind came in the plane and the pressure went awry. The seats of the passengers sitting near the door flew due to air pressure. The passengers sitting on these seats started falling down from the plane. There was a hole in the plane now.
Pilot felt the bomb exploded in the plane
Initially the pilots felt that the bomb exploded inside the plane. So he took the plane to a safe altitude where air could be breathed. Simultaneously, he turned the plane towards Honolulu. The emergency emergency oxygen supply of the aircraft was disrupted due to the dislocation of doors and seats. One of its engines was also damaged due to aircraft debris. The pilot immediately stopped this engine of the aircraft and started preparing for the landing with the rest of the engine. He started dropping the fuel of the aircraft, so that during the landing, the weight of the aircraft could be reduced.
Flight engineer arrived in the aircraft when the intercom stopped working
Before landing, Palayat told the flight engineer that he should tell the flight attendants that we are about to make an emergency landing of the aircraft. But he could not be contacted through the intercom. After this, the flight engineer decided that he would see what the matter was. On getting out of the cockpit, he noticed that a part of the plane has been pierced and some people have flown down from it. The flight engineer noticed that a part has also caught fire. He then returned to the cockpit and informed the pilot of the situation inside the aircraft.
All people who came out of the aircraft within 45 seconds of landing
Upon reaching Honolulu airport, the pilot began to take out the landing gear. The pilot made the aircraft land safely while showing full caution and understanding. It had been 14 minutes since the Emergency was declared. Within 45 seconds of the aircraft landing on the runway, all passengers and flight attendants came out of the aircraft. Almost every flight attendant was hurt a bit in this accident. Some people got off their shoulders. Nine people who fell from the plane were searched at sea, but none of them were found. After this, he was declared dead.
