Taking stock: Nifty closed at around 15200, financial stocks showed strength, mid and small cap stocks brightened

There is a flat closing of the market today on the first day of the trading week. The Nifty closed at a level of 15,200 with a slight gain of 22 points. The Sensex gained 111 points to close at 50,652. Also, Nifty Bank recorded a gain of 336. In today’s session, banking, realty and energy stocks saw a boom. While Metal and FMCG shares remained under pressure.

Today, the Sensex and the Nifty have closed at the 10-week high. Midcap and Smallcap stocks were traded. Banking, realty and energy stocks also rose. The PSU Bank Index has closed at a 10-week high. However, there was pressure in the metal and FMCG shares today.

In today’s trading, 26 out of 50 stocks of Nifty gained momentum. At the same time, 17 out of 30 stocks of the Sensex rose. Nifty Bank gained 10 out of 12 stocks. Today the Nifty has climbed 22 points to close at 15,198. The Sensex has gained 111 points to close at 50,652. The midcap is up 171 points at 25,584. Nifty Bank has closed 336 points at 34,944.

Today, except for FMCG and metal, all sectoral indices have closed in the green mark. The BSE Mid and Smallcap indices have seen an increase of 0.7–0.8 per cent.

Banking stocks were seen on the back of good quarterly results and lower concerns about asset quality. In today’s business, small and medium stocks appeared to be doing better than the giants.

He further added that the manufacturing figures of UK and US remained at record highs in global markets. However, investors are waiting for inflation data for guidance on monetary policy.

IOC, BPCL, SBI, Larsen and Toubro and Axis Bank were the top gainers of the Nifty today. At the same time, Shree Cements, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Britannia Industries and Tata Consumer Products were the top losers of the Nifty.

Today, the BSE saw an increase of over 1 per cent in capital goods, realty, power, oil and gas. Talking about individual stocks, Cadila Healthcare, CONCOR and SAIL saw volume growth of more than 100 percent.

Long buildup was seen in Muthoot Finance, Mindtree and Cadila Healthcare, while short buildup was seen in TVS Motor, JSW Steel and Britannia Industries.

There were more than 350 such stocks on the BSE today, which saw a new 52-week high. These include the names of Adani Green Energy, IOC and Kalpataru Power.

Technical view

The Nifty has today created a small-bodied candle on the daily scale. It has also been making higher high-higher losses for the last two trading sessions.

Chandan Tapadia of Motilal Oswal It is said that the Nifty will have to stick to 15,150 to move towards the lifetime high of 15300 and then 15,431 thereafter. There is support for the Nifty at 15,000 -14,900 at the bottom.
