DGCA, which regulates airline companies, has said that after getting the license, Akasa Air airline can now start flight services.
Akasa Air gets DGCA nod: Veteran investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s airline ‘Akasa Air’ has got the green signal from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). DGCA has issued Air Operator Certificate to Akasa Air. DGCA, which regulates airline companies, has said that after getting the license, Akasa Air airline can now start flight services. Commercial flights of Akasa Air will start in this month i.e. July itself.

Akasa Air’s statement
Akasa Air said in a statement on Thursday that it has received the AOC after meeting all regulatory and compliance requirements with regard to the airline’s operational preparedness. The airline has successfully conducted several test flights under the supervision of DGCA. Stock market veteran Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s airline Akasa Air has received the delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft on June 21.

Flight will start with two planes
Vinay Dubey, Founder-CEO, Akasa Air, said, “We are grateful to DGCA for the creative direction and support during the AOC process. Our intention is to start our commercial flights by the end of July.” The government is preparing to start a new era of digitization. Akasa Air said that under this it is the first airline whose AOC process was completed through the progressive eGCA digital platform of the government. Akasa Air said it would start its commercial operation with two planes. Every month it will add new aircraft to its fleet.
