Preparations are being made to change the name of Aligarh and Mainpuri. A proposal to change the name of Aligarh to Harigarh has been sent to the government on behalf of the district panchayat. This proposal has also been passed in the meeting of the Zilla Panchayat Board. People’s representatives of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP have raised the demand to change the name till the state level. Allahabad has been named Prayagraj and Faizabad as Ayodhya.

Mainpuri will become Mayan Nagar
The new name of Mainpuri has been fixed as Mayan Nagar. If the proposal to change the name is approved, then the new name of Mainpuri will be Mayan Nagar. Approval has been given to change the names of both the districts in the meeting of the Zilla Panchayat. Now the government will have to take the final decision on this. Let us inform that recently the proposal to change the name of Firozabad to Chandranagar has also been passed.
In Mainpuri, the district panchayat meeting was held in the Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of President Archana Bhadauria. Member Yogendra Pratap moved a proposal to name Mainpuri as Mayan city. It was accepted after discussion. Archana Bhadauria told that now it will be sent to the government.
