Work from home ends for Wipro employees, offices open from Monday after 18 months

As the number of corona infected patients is declining, companies have started calling their employees to the office. The country’s leading IT company Wipro has said that after about 18 months, its employees have started coming to the office from Monday.

Employees who have been fully vaccinated have been allowed to come to the office twice a week.

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji tweeted that after a long gap of 18 months, top level executives of Wipro are coming to office twice a week from Monday. Everyone has had both the vaccines. With this everyone is ready to go to the office while following the safe and social distance.

The company’s annual report states that with the outbreak of the epidemic, the company started working from home. Globally, less than 3 percent of its total workforce was working from office.

Premji had said in the company’s 75th Annual General Meeting on July 14 that about 55 percent of its employees in India have been vaccinated. At present there are about 2 lakh people working in Wipro in India. On the other hand, Wipro HR Chief Saurabh Govil said in July that employees are expected to return to office in September.

Earlier, the country’s largest IT services company TCS had said that 70-80 percent of its 50 lakh employees are preparing to come to office by the end of calendar year 2021 or early next year.
