The Election Commission (EC) has sent a notice to West Bengal (West Bengal) Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (Mamata) alleging that her recent speech is in violation of the Model Code of Conduct and has sought a reply within 48 hours. Taking cognizance of the complaint of BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the poll panel sought an explanation from Banerjee about his April 3 speech at Tarakeswar in Hooghly where, addressing an election rally, he “divided his votes” from Muslim voters Appealed to be “no.”
Responding to the Election Commission notice, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra questioned the inaction of the Election Commission on the complaints made by TMC. He tweeted, “Mamta didi has received notice from Election Commission on BJP’s complaint. What about TMC’s complaints … 1- Video evidence of BJP candidate distributing cash. 2- BJP to attend meeting and vote Cash coupons distributed. Gentlemen – at least maintain the fairness difference! “

BJP on Monday approached the Election Commission seeking action against Banerjee, alleging that it had violated the Representation of People Act to allow Muslims to come together and vote for their party TMC in the state assembly elections.
PM Modi said- If we had said all Hindus would unite, then Election Commission would have sent 8-10 notices
While taking a sarcasm at Mamta Banerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the TMC supremo’s appeal to Muslims has revealed that he fears minority votes are slipping from his hand.
Modi said that if we had appealed to all Hindus to unite in their place and vote for the BJP, they would have got eight-ten notices of the Election Commission and editorials would be published against them in newspapers across the country.
She said that by making such an appeal, Mamta Banerjee has scored a self goal and at the same time admitted that she had lost the election. The Prime Minister, who addressed Mamata Banerjee as Didi O Didi at her every election rally in West Bengal, in her address changing the strategy here, addressed her as Respected Didi, O Didi.
