In West Bengal Polls, the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Sujata Mondal Khan was run over by a polling booth amid the ongoing voting for the third phase of the assembly elections. According to the report, he also suffered a head injury during this period. TMC also alleges that a security personnel has been injured in the attack.
At the same time, Sujatha alleged that BJP goons threatened and tortured women voters last night. He accused the opposition party of threatening Trinamool supporters in Arambagh amid voting. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied these allegations. Sujatha Mandal Khan is the TMC candidate from Arambagh.
Sujatha alleged that the situation is fine in many places regarding voting but the situation is not right where we are strong. At booth number 45, people voted for TMC, but the vote is going to the BJP’s account. Our workers were beaten in Arandi-ii. Central forces are also not acting with impartiality. He is asking people to vote for the BJP.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also alleged that BJP workers are forcibly occupying polling stations and attacking party workers, including Trinamool Congress candidates. During a public meeting in Alipurduar district, Banerjee alleged that BJP workers chased Trinamool Congress candidate Sujatha Mandal from Arambagh and hurt her on the head near a polling station.
The TMC chief said that when our Scheduled Caste candidate Sujatha reached the polling booth, she (BJP workers) seriously hurt him. He also attacked another candidate in Khanakul. The security forces in Canning East did not allow our candidate Shaukat Mulla to enter a polling station. There have been many such incidents of attacks on our candidates and party workers across the state.
