Once again the corona virus is spreading rapidly in China. Schools, buses and trains have been closed in the city of Putian in Fujian Province of China to prevent the outbreak of the delta variant of Corona. Along with this, people have also been banned from traveling. Putian residents have been advised not to leave the city.
22 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Fujian province of southeast China. A total of 43 new cases have been reported in the recent outbreak of infection due to the highly contagious delta variant of the corona virus.
Health officials said on Monday that in the past 24 hours, 15 cases of infection have been reported in Putian city, six in Quanzhou city and one case in Xiamen, indicating that the virus is also spreading to the south. All the cases of infection are in Fujian province.

Schools have been closed in the city of Putian, south of Shanghai, with a population of 2.9 million. It is mandatory for every person going out of the city to undergo a corona test 48 hours in advance and will be allowed only if the report confirms no infection.
Bus and train services were suspended in the city on Saturday and cinemas, bars etc were also closed. Officials say most cases of the delta variant have been found in travelers arriving from Russia, Myanmar and other countries.
The Health Commission announced on Saturday that experts had been sent to Putian to oversee disease control work. China declared itself free of the virus in early 2020, but has faced outbreaks of the more contagious delta variant of the pandemic.
According to the Global Times, the first case of the delta variant in Putian was found in a student in Jianyu County, but experts suspect that the virus came from the student’s father who had recently returned from Singapore.
