For the agitation against agrarian reform laws first 26 January and now 6 February, will be remembered like two stones of the mile. The peasant organizations of Punjab, Haryana and West UP, frozen on the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders, had established their claim to represent the sentiments of the farmers of the entire country in a way that the day of 26 January came, when the whole country took this Saw a new form of movement. Suddenly the image of this movement changed in the whole country. This whole exercise now seems to have reached the stage, in which the peasants were seen less and Nihang clawing at the horse, the hoodlings on the tractor and the goons beating the police more.
But by 28 January, once again, the finances started changing. In this second phase of the movement, the center of activities shifted from the western border of Delhi to the eastern border. The command of the movement came out of the hands of the leaders of Punjab and Haryana in the hands of Rakesh Tikait of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU). This was followed by two main dimensions of the movement. The first dimension of Moradabad, Saharanpur, Shamli etc. came out as Khap Mahapanchayats of Jats. And a glimpse of the second dimension started to meet the seven seas. It is important to understand these two dimensions a little deeper because that will also clear the direction ahead of the movement.
First thing, second dimension. In Canada, Australia, Britain and some other countries, the migrant Sikh community had tried to create an atmosphere against the “government atrocities on Indian farmers” and pressurized the Indian government, but suddenly 3 foreign celebrities Greta Thunberg (Greta) Thunberg), Miya Khalifa) and Rienna (Rihanna) tweeted this entire case on the international stage in support of India’s farmer movement. The leftist and anarchist recruits of India started tweeting the tweets of these three celebrities like a tame, and perhaps this entire chakravyuh would have been a shame to the Indian government in front of the international community, but a mistake from Great Thanberg happened.
Greta also accidentally tweeted a document named “Toolkit”, in which the entire outline of this peasant movement was set. Whether it was the violent spectacle of 26 January or the tweets of Riana, Greta and Khalifa, all had their plans recorded in that toolkit. Although Greta immediately deleted her tweet, work had been done before that. Then the initial investigation, it was also known that the Canadian Khalistani had the mind and which Khalistani organization had money in front of this tool kit. But the biggest thing is that these revelations gave ground to the allegations that have been being made for months that nothing is left of the farmers in this entire movement.
Now talk of the first Ayam, whose face is seen in the Jat dominated areas of western Uttar Pradesh. Since January 28, many Khap Mahapanchayats have been held in these areas and it is being told in media reports that there is a lot of crowd gathering in them. But the videos that are coming from these mahapanchayats in this era of social media, it is clear that the agenda of the farmers movement has completely changed. From the stage, religious slogans are being raised and political speeches are being made of Alla-Ho-Akbar and Jo Bole So Nihal. After the notorious riots of 2013, once again the BJP’s eviction strategy in the UP Assembly elections of 2022 has started to happen due to Jat-Muslim equation in this area.
In the context of the peasant movement, it is very important to know that West Uttar Pradesh is the region where neither the mandis nor the MSP have any special role. The main crop here is sugarcane and wheat and paddy farmers grow only according to their needs. In such a situation, it is a fun coincidence to lead the peasant movement of western Uttar Pradesh. There have been reports from the lending Punjab that the weather has started changing in the villages. The peasant unions, which had recovered lakhs of rupees in the name of agitation from the adhatis, are now under pressure after the movement of their hands.
Due to the deterioration of the image of Punjab in the entire country, there is uneasiness in the villages and cities of Punjab and now the edge of “Delhi Chalo” is gradually getting weaker. And in this context, the Chakka Jam of 6 February can be considered as the second important milestone in the path of this movement. It is amazing that Rakesh Tikait, who is commanding the movement from western Uttar Pradesh, had announced to keep Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi out of the wheel. And the manner in which the flywheel jam in Punjab and Haryana was made to be the agitator of every house in Punjab and Haryana has proved to be the last nail in the coffin of this movement.
Whereas after 26 January, the peasant movement lost its moral strength, after 6 February the hollowness of the manpower has also become known. This is perhaps a unique movement of its kind, where on 4 February the leader of the movement, Rakesh Tikait, is saying that the government has till 2 October to accept his demands. And if the government has time for 8 months, then what does it mean to agitate on those demands during this time? Overall, this movement has completely deviated and the only reason for this is that from the beginning it stood on a virtual ground (virtual ground), which had neither fact nor direction.
