So far 22 cases of the highly contagious Delta Plus variant of Covid-19 have been reported in the country. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said on Tuesday that so far 22 cases of delta plus variant of corona virus have been registered in India. Of these, 16 cases have been found in Ratnagiri and Jalgaon in Maharashtra. The remaining six cases have come from Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.
He said the Delta variant has been found in 80 countries. While the Delta Plus variant is currently found in 9 countries. So far 22 cases of Delta Plus variant have been found in India. These cases have been found in Maharashtra, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh.
The Union Health Secretary said that we have issued advisory to these states. Bhushan said that apart from India, the Delta Plus variant has also been found in the US, UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, Poland, Nepal, China and Russia.
Bhushan said that there has been a significant decline in the daily arrival of Covid cases. There are 135 districts in the country in which 100 new cases are being reported daily. The recovery rate in the country is 96.5 percent. The positivity rate has come down to 3.4%.
He told that on June 21, 88,09,000 doses of Covid vaccine were administered across the country. 40,43,000 vaccine doses were administered to women yesterday and 47,24,283 vaccine doses were administered to men.
Bhushan said that there was a large-scale vaccination in the country yesterday. States and Union Territories have demonstrated yesterday that if the vaccine is available and the central government’s cooperation continues, then the states themselves can do large-scale vaccination.
Let us tell you that this new variant Delta Plus is made up of mutations in the first Delta or B.1.617.2 variant that appeared in India. Delta was also one of the reasons for the second wave of infection in India.
