The issue of marriage of popular Bengali actress and Trinamool MP (TMC) Nusrat Jahan has now reached Parliament. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Badaun in Uttar Pradesh Sanghmitra Maurya has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding cancellation of Nusrat Jahan’s Lok Sabha membership. BJP MP says that Nusrat’s conduct is indecent, she has deceived her voters on the issue of marriage.
In a letter sent to the Lok Sabha speaker, Sanghamitra said that Nusrat had pronounced her name as Nusrat Jahan Ruhi Jain during the oath of office as a member of the Lok Sabha. Nusrat Jahan’s husband’s name is written on the website of Lok Sabha, Nikhil Jain. Maurya accused Nusrat of tarnishing the dignity of Parliament and said that the matter should be referred to the Ethics Committee.
Along with this, Maurya has also demanded action against Nusrat Jahan. In his letter, he has mentioned about Nusrat coming dressed as a bride on the first day in Parliament, Mamta Banerjee attending the reception. Let us tell you that Nusrat recently said that she and Nikhil Jain were married under Turkish law and this marriage is not valid in India according to the law.
Tollywood actress Nusrat Jahan has claimed that her marriage with businessman Nikhil Jain is not legal but a live-in relationship as their marriage in Turkey is not recognized as per Indian law. It is being told that Jahan is dating Yash Das Gupta, a multiple-time actor and candidate in the recent assembly elections.
The actress issued a statement saying that since her marriage with Zain took place under Turkish marriage rules, the marriage is illegal here. Jahan also claimed in his statement that since it was an inter-religious marriage, it needed recognition under the Special Marriage Act in India, which is yet to be found. According to the law it is not a marriage but a relation or live-in-relationship.

Responding to this, the MP from Basirhat in West Bengal, Jahan said that due to the above reasons, the question of divorce does not arise. She alleged that we had parted ways long ago, but I didn’t talk about it as I wanted to keep my personal life to myself. Therefore, the media or any person with whom I have no relation should not question me on the ground of alienation. The said marriage is not legal, valid or valid.
Jahan married Jain in Turkey in 2019, which was attended by a select few. Jahan, who won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on a TMC ticket, later organized a grand wedding ceremony at a five-star hotel in Kolkata, which was attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries. Nusrat has issued this statement amid speculations of rift in the marriage and reports that she is living separately and is pregnant.
