West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, addressing a public meeting in Malda on Wednesday, took a sarcasm at the BJP’s Rath Yatra and accused the saffron party of indulging in divisive politics. Banning the BJP, Mamta said that no one has freedom in the country and these people are taking out rath yatras. He said that BJP leaders have no knowledge about Hindu deities. The CM said that the chariot is for Gods and Goddesses and not for politicians.
The TMC (Trinamool Congress) chief accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders of traveling on chariots as deities, accusing the saffron party’s political agenda of creating divisions in society on the basis of religion. He also accused the saffron party of resorting to lies about Hinduism. Mamta said that Ratha Yatra is a religious festival and we all have participated in this festival.
He further said that we see Lord Jagannath, Balarama and Goddess Subhadra traveling in those chariots, but BJP leaders are using this political rath yatra for their political purposes to divide the society. And pit against each other. BJP leaders are traveling on chariots as if they are gods.
Mamta said that people from other states come to Bengal and only cause problems. They do not even know the culture of Bengal. They only know how to play with blood and now they are playing their dirty politics here. Nowadays, they are roaming around like deities in the Five Star Rath. He made this remark referring to a number of road shows being carried out by senior BJP leaders, including the party’s national president JP Nadda.
