West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday challenged the BJP to prove its allegation that his party Trinamool Congress had misused the money sent by the Center to the state. Banerjee said that the Modi government should resign if BJP could not prove it. The TMC chief, while addressing a program of NGOs and civil society organizations in Kolkata, claimed that the language used by BJP leader Amit Shah smells of arrogance and does not suit a Union Home Minister.
Mamta further said that BJP often says TMC is corrupt, TMC misused money. This is not Modi’s money. It is sent by one government to another. Then you should not collect tax from the state and then there will be no need to pay it back. If you cannot prove the allegation, you will have to resign. According to NDTV, Mamta further referred to Jai Shah, son of the Home Minister, that, you constantly attack us as aunt and nephew. What about your son, Mr. Shah? Where do they get so much money?
He said that all political parties should maintain dignity. Etiquette cannot be one sided. It should be from both sides. The Chief Minister accused the BJP of spreading fake news and fake videos on social media to mislead people. Mamta further said that let Bengal live in peace. BJP should not be allowed to come to power in the state. I appeal to everyone to protect the honor of Bengal. Explain that there is a possibility of assembly elections in the state in April-May.
