JNU Reopening: JNU campus to open for students of final semester of M.Phil from 8 March

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) announced on Sunday that final year M.Phil students who want to submit their thesis by June 30, will be allowed entry into the campus from March 8. Also all third year PhD students of Science stream, and PWD class Bachelor and Master students who need to visit the library can visit the campus from Monday. The deputy registrar of the university issued the order on Sunday.

The order said that students of fourth semester of MTech and final semester of MBA at JNU have been allowed to come to the university camp on Monday under the seventh phase of unlock. The University’s BR Ambedkar Central Library has also announced partial rollout of services. The notification issued by the university states that students who want to use the library and submit their dissertations or theses before June 30, are allowed to visit the campus.

BR Ambedkar Central Library has allowed students, scholars, and faculty members to acquire books from the library. At present, the benefit of this facility can be availed only 24 hours after sending the email to the library president. Only five students will be allowed to enter the library at a time to receive books while study rooms, book shelves etc. will remain closed until further orders.

The library has asked students and others to follow the Corona Guidelines, failing which library facilities can be punished by withdrawing. The notification also states that authorized shops providing tea, snacks and food items, markets in residential areas, Tapti, Pashchimabad and Purvanchal complexes have been opened with immediate effect. The dhabas and canteens inside the campus will remain closed till further orders.
