The central government has approved the construction of an international airport in Ayodhya. Along with this, the Center has also allocated an amount of Rs 250 crore for it. The UP government had sent a proposal to the Center for this. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the support of the Center and said that the state government will give 1000 crore rupees for this project.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the Government of India has given its approval to the proposal to make Ayodhya Airport an international airport. He said that the work of development of the airport will continue. Air buses and other large passenger aircraft will be operated from the airport. He said that citizens of Indian origin and non-resident Indians live in large numbers in all the countries of the world. They want to come to Ayodhya to see the grand temple of Lord Rama. He informed that the district administration has given Rs.1000 crore for the purchase of the land required for the construction of the airport. He informed that the process of land acquisition is going on fast. So far, more than 377 acres of land has been purchased. He said that air services will be started from Ayodhya Airport soon.
Maryada Purushottam Shriram International Airport is proposed on 600 acres and its runway will be two kilometers in which aircraft like ATR will also be able to land. This will be the fourth international airport to be built in Ayodhya. International airports at Lucknow and Varanasi are already operational in the state. While the airport built in Kushinagar got international status last year due to the efforts of the Yogi government. Last year in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. Since then, Ayodhya has gained attention in the country and the world in terms of religious tourism.
