In the Hyundai Ioniq 5 electric crossover you will get a maximum driving range of 480 kilometers (298 mi), which is about 20 percent more than the Kona EV.

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company on Tuesday launched its mid-size crossover Ioniq 5. The company has high hopes for this electric car and with the help of this car, it wants to join the list of top three global electric vehicle makers by 2025.

Hyundai said that this model is based on the new electric vehicle-only platform which uses its own battery module technology. Apart from this, less components are required from the existing electric cars of Hyundai, so that more production can be done at a lower price.

The launch of the Ioniq 5 is part of the company’s plan to gain a 10 percent share in the global electric vehicles sales market by 2025. According to industry tracker SNE Research, Hyundai and Kia Motors have achieved a total stake of 7.2 percent in the period January to September in 2020. Both companies have plans to sell 1 million electric vehicles by 2025. Hyundai Motors president Chang Jae-hoon said that he expects the demand for electric vehicles to grow by 30 percent this year.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 will get a driving range of 480KM

In this car, you will get a maximum driving range of 480 kilometers (298 mi), which is about 20 percent more than the Kona EV. Prior to this, the Kona EV was the company’s highest range car. Apart from this, you will get two battery pack options in Ioniq 5 which includes 58kWh or 72.6kWh. According to the company, this car will be available in a few selected places in the first half of this year.

The dashboard, switch, steering wheel and door panel in the cabin of the Ioniq 5 are painted with polyurethane bio paint. This car sports a long wheelbase and flat floor. Apart from this, two screens, instrument cluster and infotainment system have been given in the overhead shot of the front seats and dash. Along with this, a physical drive stalk is given to the right of the two-spoke steering wheel of the Ioniq 5.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Price

Let us tell you that the company has not disclosed the price of this car, but Michael Cole, president of Hyundai Motor Europe, said in Europe that the initial price of this car can be 42,000 euros ($ 51,100) without adding government incentives. The company is planning to sell 100,000 units by next year, in which 30-40 percent will be in Europe, 30 percent in North America and 20 percent in South Korea.
