Feb Auto Sales: Ashok Leyland’s sales figures better than expected, MM’s total sales down

M&M

M&M’s total auto sales in February were down 11.4 percent year-on-year to 28,777 units as compared to 32,476 units sold in February last year.

The company’s passenger vehicle sales have seen a strong growth in the month of February. On a year-on-year basis, the passenger vehicle sales of the company grew by 41 per cent to 15,391 units in February as compared to 10,938 units sold in February last year.

In February, 3-wheeler sales have shown weakness and have fallen by 39 per cent to 2,357 units as compared to 3,843 units sold in February last year.

The company also saw weakness in auto exports in February. The company’s exports during the period declined by 1 per cent to 1,827 units as against 1,839 units in February last year. On a month-on-month basis, auto sales of the company declined by 26.5 per cent to 28,777 units as compared to 39,149 units in the same month of January.

M&M Tractor Sales

In February, the company’s tractor sales have seen a spectacular increase. M & M’s total tractor sales in February increased by 25 per cent year-on-year to 28,146 units as against 22,561 units sold in February last year.

In February, the company’s domestic sales grew by 24 per cent year-on-year to 27,170 units as compared to 21,877 units sold in February last year.

Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland’s total sales in February were up 19 percent year-on-year to 13,703 units as compared to 11,475 units sold in February last year.

Sales of the company’s Medium & Heavy Commercial Segment in February grew by 6 per cent year-on-year to 7,802 units as compared to 7,368 units sold in February last year.

In February, sales of the company’s light commercial vehicle segment grew by 44 per cent year-on-year to 5,901 units compared to 4,107 units sold in the segment in February last year.

The company’s exports in the month of February grew by 7.4 percent to 927 units as compared to 863 units in the previous month.
