Reports said several Afghan families, desperate to escape the new Taliban regime, were seen throwing their children over wire fences around Kabul airport. More than 12,700 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan by US forces in the past week, as the Taliban took control of the country. US President Joe Biden on Friday pledged to bring back all Americans stranded in Afghanistan.
