According to Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, every sixth employee of Air India is infected with Coronavirus, while 19 employees have died so far from this deadly virus. A total of 1,995 Air India employees were infected with the virus till February 1, including the crew involved in the Vande Bharat Missions. 583 of them are hospitalized.
Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information to the Parliament in a written reply. As of January 1, Air India had 12,350 employees, including 8,290 permanent employees and 4,060 contract employees, according to data provided by an Air India spokesperson. Puri said that the crew is allowed to work only as per the corona test and SOP issued by the Medical Department of Air India.
In India, the number of new cases of corona for the fourth time in February was 9,121, with the number of infections increasing to 1,09,25,710 in the country. For the 10th time in this month, less than 100 people died in one day from the infection. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at eight o’clock on Tuesday morning, the death toll rose to 1,55,813 after the virus killed 81 more people in the country.
According to the data, with a total of 1,06,33,025 people becoming infection-free, the recovery rate of patients in the country increased to 97.32 percent. The death rate from Kovid-19 is 1.43 percent. At present, the number of people under treatment in the country is less than 1.5 lakh. A total of 1,36,872 people are currently undergoing treatment for coronavirus infection, which is 1.25 percent of the total cases. On August 7 last year, the number of infected people in the country was 20 lakh, on 23 August 30 million and on 5 September more than 40 lakh.
