The second wave of corona virus in the country is not over yet that the delta variant of corona virus has increased the headache for the government.
The Union Health Ministry has issued an advisory after the delta variant of the corona virus surfaced in Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. Patients of the Delta Plus variant have been reported in these states. So far 22 cases have been reported.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in a press conference that the DeltaPulse variant is currently the variant of interest. But so far it has not been classified as a variant of concern. That is, so far it is not in the category of worrying variants. Cases of Delta Plus variant have been found in Ratnagiri, Jalgaon in Maharashtra and parts of Kerala, Madhya Pradesh.
The Central Government has directed that they should immediately take measures for its prevention. Where the Delta Plus variant has been found, there is a need to focus on testing, tracking and vaccination. The government has said that samples of infected persons should be sent immediately to the lab designated INSACOG. So that tests can be done every day.
The Delta variant has been detected in 80 countries around the world including India and is a worrying variant. The Delta Plus variant has been found in 9 countries apart from India. Delta Plus variant of Corona has been found in India including America, UK, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, Poland, Nepal, China, Russia. According to the Health Ministry, 16 out of 22 cases of Delta Plus variant in India are from Maharashtra. Rest of the cases are in Kerala and Madhya Pradesh.
However, from the research point of view, the Delta Plus is one variant that has attracted everyone’s interest. Explain that researchers study a virus by dividing it into Variant of Interest and Variant of Concern. Bhushan said that while broadly speaking, both the Indian vaccines are effective against CoviShield and Covaccine- the delta variant, but to what extent and in what proportion they produce antibodies, information will be shared very soon.
