Delhi weather update: Due to heavy rains in and around the national capital Delhi, many major parts were waterlogged. Traffic was disrupted on several important roads due to the rains, causing inconvenience to the people. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city received an average of 69.6 mm of rain till 8:30 am.
The IMD said that the current heavy rain is expected to have an impact in Delhi and adjoining areas. Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting on Monday regarding the preparations for the monsoon. Officers of other departments including PWD, MCD, DJB participated in this meeting. Kejriwal promised to build a world class drainage system in Delhi.

The mercury rose a few degrees in Delhi today and the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 26.5 degrees Celsius, 8 notches below normal.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday is likely to be around 33 degree Celsius.
Monsoon reached the national capital on July 12 after a long delay, as the city received rain and people got relief from the scorching heat.
Since then, it has been raining almost every day in the capital city.
The IMD said that the minimum temperature was recorded at 27.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning.
The Meteorological Department has forecast a generally cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers.
