The launch of Chandrayaan 3 is now expected in 2022 instead of 2021. ISRO Chief K Sivan has given this information. The ISRO Chief also gave the reason for the delay in the launch of Chandrayaan-3 (Chandrayaan 3 Launch Date). He said that due to the Covid-19 Lockdown, many projects of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) including Chandrayaan-3 and the country’s first manned space mission Gaganyaan have been affected.
Sivan said, Chandrayaan-3 will be very similar to Chandrayaan-2, but there will be no orbiter in it. The orbiter that was in Chandrayaan-2 will also be used for Chandrayaan-3. We are working on it. We are building a system for this and it will be launched in 2022 next year. Chandrayaan-2 was launched on 22 July 2019 and was sent to take off the rover in the Lunar South Pole of the Moon.
Let us know that on September 7, 2019, its lander Vikram was supposed to land on the lunar surface by soft landing, but it landed with a shock, due to which the effort is not considered completely successful. Chandrayaan-3 is also a special mission for ISRO, which will pave the way for India in landing. Sivan said that there is a plan to launch ISRO’s first unmanned mission in December this year under the Gaganyaan project, which was to be launched only in December last year. He said that after this another unmanned mission will be launched and then a manned mission will be launched in the third time.
There is a plan to send three Indians to space by 2022 under the Gaganyaan project. Four pilots have been selected for this mission who are currently training in Russia. When asked about the launch of the manned mission, he said that a lot of technology is needed for the demonstration. We will decide the launching of manned mission only after checking whether all the technology is correct or not.
