The launch of the iPhone 12 series benefited the company, where in the fourth quarter of the year 2020, the company benefited in double digit.

Apple has gained a lot in sales with the new iPhone 12 series. Apple also shocked Samsung during this time. According to the Gartner market research firm, Apple has made a record for the first time in the quarter after 2016, to sell more phones than Samsung. This means that when Apple started the iPhone 7 series, Samsung was ahead of Apple in terms of selling phones.

The research firm has also said that in the fourth quarter of the year 2020, the global smartphone users cell had registered a decline of 5.4 percent. At the same time, in the year 2020, there was a decline of 12.5 percent in the total figures of smartphone sales. According to Gartner data, Apple had a market share of 20 percent in the fourth quarter in terms of selling phones.

Samsung still on top

During this time Samsung’s market share was 16.2 percent. Other manufacturers included in the list were Xiaomi’s market share of 11 percent, while Oppo and Huawei had 9 percent market share.

The report also said that the launch of 5G enabled iPhone 12 series benefited the company where in the fourth quarter of the year 2020, the company benefited in double digit. The last time this happened was with Apple in 2016. Talking about the total smartphones cell, Samsung is still at the top, where the company’s market share is 18.8 percent, while Apple’s is 14.8 percent.

Gartner Report Research has said that Samsung has lost 14.6 percent by the year 2020. The South Korean company faced stiff competition from Chinese companies such as Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
