In order to promote the small businesses of the country and the businesses under MSME, MSME Minister Nitin Gadkari has talked about creating 5000 clusters for small businesses. Actually, this scheme is being made to promote the traditional business of the country under the PEP scheme. Under this, traditional industries and artisans will be organized through clusters, so that they can be made competitive and their income can be increased.
Under this scheme, support is given for creating infrastructural facilities through shared facility centers, purchase of new machinery, banks for raw materials and improvement in packaging. Nitin Gadkari said that there is a need to expedite the steps to create such clusters so that the traders can get more benefits.
85 crores will be provided
To further this scheme and to operate 5000 clusterers and to develop these clusters, an assistance of Rs 85 crores has been provided. This scheme will benefit the working artisans, carpet makers and all those businessmen who are involved in traditional business but are not getting help. At present, there are 371 such clusters in the country, but only 82 of them are working. Clusters which are not working under this scheme can also be repaired.
Problems are resolved immediately
Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Nitin Gadkari asked the officials of the ministry to look into the issues related to it and solve the problems so that those clusters can come into operation which are not working yet. Nitin Gadkari said this after the inauguration of 50 Pep clusters based across 18 states. The ministry has provided Rs 85 crore for the development of these 50 packages.
