In 1984, BJP got only 2 seats. In 2019, BJP won 303 seats. Today BJP is the largest political party in the world. BJP has more than 18 crore members. Today BJP is in power in 17 states.

In the 1984 Lok Sabha elections, BJP got 2 seats and got 7.74 percent votes. After this, in 1989 BJP got 11.36 percent votes with 85 seats. At the same time, in 1991 BJP got 20.11 percent votes with 120 seats. Whereas in 1996 BJP got 20.29 percent votes with 161 seats. In 1998, BJP received 25.59 percent of the vote with 182 seats. Then in 1999, 182 seats got 23.75 percent of the vote. Whereas in 2014 BJP got 31.34 percent votes with 282 seats. Then in 2019, BJP got 37.76 percent of the vote with 303 seats.

In 1996, BJP got 19 percent OBC, 14 percent SC, 21 percent ST and 2 percent Muslim votes. At the same time, in 2019, BJP got 44 percent OBC, 34 percent SC, 44 percent ST and 8 percent Muslim votes.
In 1984, BJP’s vote share was 7.74 per cent, which increased to 37.76 per cent in 2019. In 2019, the vote share of the NDA was 44.84 percent. BJP contested in 34 states and union territories in 2019. It garnered more than 50 percent vote share in 14 states. More than 50 percent of the vote share was held in 224 seats.
