A woman from Pandeyapatti village of Muftasil police station in Buxar was shot and injured on Monday when she protested against playing vulgar songs by a group of youths near her home. Gorakh Ram, SDPO of Buxar said, “There was a shootout during the controversy over playing the song. The woman got shot in the leg. We are investigating the matter.”
In Nalanda, miscreants set fire to three huts in Mia-Bigha village and injured four people when they protested against playing vulgar Bhojpuri songs. At least six people were injured in a clash between two communities in the Barari police station area in Bhagalpur. The skirmish took place when one group threw a spell on another group playing cricket.
The clashes escalated with the two communities attacking each other and setting many shops on fire. Bhagalpur SSP Nitya Guria said that the situation is normal and the police is registering an FIR against the culprits.
Earlier on Sunday evening, a speeding truck hit a sweets and snacks shop near Telhara police station in Nalanda, killing six people and injuring more than 10. Angry locals attacked the Telhara police station and set fire to eight vehicles parked in its premises.
On the other hand, three Dalit children were killed and another seriously injured during Holika Dahan in Rahul Nagar village in Gaya. SHO Mitesh Kumar of Bodh Gaya Police Station said, “The villagers cremated the bodies on Monday morning. They have not filed any complaint till now.”
On Monday, two groups of people clashed over the land dispute in Benipatti police station area of Madhubani. Three persons, including two brothers, were shot dead and three others were injured in a shootout between two groups. Madhubani police chief Dr Satya Prakash said that two of the injured were referred to Patna, while one was referred to Darbhanga.
According to reports from Sitamarhi, two people were killed after three motorcycles collided with each other near Mushahari village on Holi. A similar incident came to light from Katihar where three motorcycle riders were killed and two were injured.
Two persons from Vaishali, Gopalganj, Buxar and Jehanabad districts died in a road accident, while one pick-up van overturned in Lakhisarai, killing one and injuring 10. Three people, including a two-year-old child, were killed and three others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kaimur.
An official of the police headquarters said that a farmer was shot dead in Khagaria, while two people died in Buxar. Similarly, one person was killed and three others were injured in a shootout between two groups in Rohtas.
