This application form is available in both offline and online mode. If farmers want to apply online, then they can apply by visiting PM Fasal Bima Yojana website https://pmfby.gov.in. On the other hand, for offline application, farmers can apply by visiting the nearest bank, cooperative society or CSC (Common Service Center). Farmers have to apply for insurance within 10 days of sowing the crop, only then any crop is considered eligible for insurance.

Farmers also have to pay the prescribed premium for insurance. Under which 2 percent of the insurance amount has to be paid for Kharif crops, 1.5 percent for Rabi crops and a maximum of 5 percent for commercial and horticultural crops. The rest is paid by the state and central government.

8 crops paddy, groundnut, maize, tur, ragi, cotton, ginger and turmeric are being insured for the Kharif-2022 season. 31st July 2022 is the deadline for insurance of Kharif crops.
