The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has presented the biggest budget of the state so far ahead of next year’s assembly elections. In this budget of Rs 5.50 lakh crore, the emphasis has been on self-sufficient UP (Atmanirbhar UP). In the budget, farmers have been announced to increase the number of airports with free water, clean drinking water, free coaching for competitive examinations, cheap agricultural loan, amount for corona vaccine, laying of expressway and metro network in the state. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the last full budget of this term of the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh. This budget of UP government focuses on youth, farmers and women.
Presenting the budget, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that this budget of UP government is dedicated to youth and employment. We are giving security to every woman of the state. The government is taking tough action against the culprits. The budget provides for the goal of making UP self-reliant. More than 6800 crore rupees have been added to the accounts of farmers and a provision of Rs 400 crore has been made in the budget for affordable loans to farmers. The Yogi government has launched 2 new schemes for women. Of these, Rs 100 crore has been allocated for the Kanya Malnutrition Scheme and Rs 200 crore for the Women Strength Scheme.
140 crore budget for Ayodhya
The Yogi government has proposed a provision of Rs 140 crore in the budget of FY 2021-22 for the plan for the all-round development of Ayodhya including the development of Suryakund in Ayodhya. With this, a provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for the construction of National Inspiration Site in Lucknow. Rs 20 crore has been allocated for tourism in Chitrakoot, while Rs 100 crore has been allocated for tourism in Varanasi.
Emphasis on metro and rapid rail
The Yogi government has proposed Rs 1326 crore for the Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail. Apart from this, 100-100 crore rupees have been provided for Gorakhpur-Varanasi metro. Suresh Khanna said that the approved cost of Kanpur Metro Rail Project is Rs 11,076 crore. In the budget for the financial year 2021-2022, a provision of Rs. 597 crores has been made for this project. Simultaneously, IIT Kanpur, the primary section of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, has said to start a trial run on the Motijheel route.
Ayodhya airport will be named Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport
Suresh Khanna said that the number of operational airports in Uttar Pradesh has increased from 4 to 7. The airport under construction in the district Ayodhya will be named Maryada Purushottam Shriram Airport Ayodhya. 101 crore rupees have been arranged for this airport. Also, it has been decided to increase the number of airstrips at Jewar Airport from two to six. An arrangement of Rs 2000 crore has been made for this project. The Finance Minister said that the Kushinagar Airport has been declared an international airport by the Central Government. Now 4 international airports in the state will be in Lucknow, Varanasi, Kushinagar and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Aim to double farmers’ income
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that the goal is to double the income of farmers. Financial assistance of 5 lakh has been provided to the farmers who died in road accident. The Finance Minister said that Mukhyamantri Abhyodaya Yojana has been launched. Water, electricity and banking facilities will be available in every household. There are continuous campaigns for women’s safety. With this, farmers will get free water for irrigation, Rs 700 crore has been allocated for this. Besides, cheaper agricultural loans will also be made available to farmers. Suresh Khanna said that more productive crops will be identified in the state. Farmer production organizations will be set up at the block level, Rs 100 crore will be provided for this.
50 crores for the corona vaccine
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced that Rs 50 crore is proposed for the corona vaccination, while Rs 13 crore is proposed for Ayushman Bharat. Medical colleges are being built under the PPP model of the state. Suresh Khanna, while opening the budget speech, said that during the Corona era, the government worked unitedly. For the first time 10,35,000 ration cards were made for urban area laborers. At the same time, about 12,000 students from Kota of Rajasthan and 14,000 students from Prayagraj were taken to Sakushal’s house during the Corona period. In the Corona Crisis, all the Corona Warriors fought fiercely. Losing occurs when it is accepted and victory occurs when it is determined. The Finance Minister further said that even in the Corona crisis, under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all employees were paid their salaries on time.
This gift given to the students
Suresh Khanna said that free coaching is being given to the youth of competitive examinations, for this, tablets will also be given to students. Counseling of unemployed youth is being done. So far, 52 thousand youths have benefited from this. In many other districts, similar centers have been announced. The Finance Minister announced that a total of 40 hostels will be built in 19 districts of the state. Chambers will be made for advocates in different districts and books will also be given. Free hostels will be provided in Sanskrit schools. Also, Rs 950 crore has been allocated for construction medical colleges. The Yogi government has announced to set up a sports university in Meerut. With this, open gyms will be built in the state rural areas.
Other major budget announcements
• Rs 1492 crore allocated for Bundelkhand Expressway, Finance Minister provided Rs 1107 crore for Purvanchal Expressway. At the same time, a budget of Rs 750 crore was presented for the Gorakhpur Expressway.
• Finance Minister Suresh Khanna announced that an electronic city will be built near Jewar Airport. IT parks are being built at different places in the state.
• UP Gaurav Samman will be given to the artists of the state, an amount of Rs 1 lakh will be given in the award.
• Planning is being carried out for the protection of the cow dynasty, gaushalas have been built at different places. This will be carried forward and the number of shelters will be increased at different places.
• Finance Minister said- Clean drinking water is being arranged in Uttar Pradesh. A budget of Rs.15000 crores has been arranged for drinking water scheme. By the year 2022, tap water will be delivered from house to house in cities and villages.
