Most of the chartered accountants and tax advocates are worried after the launch of the new portal by the Income Tax Department. The Income Tax Department had said that the new portal will make it easier for taxpayers to file returns, but through this, CAs and other tax professionals are also facing difficulties in filing income tax returns.
There are many problems like this portal is very slow, taxpayer profile is not updated, OTP late, no option to forget password, digital signature is not working, pre-filled information is not downloaded.

Tax professionals are unable to file forms other than returns. Form 15CA and 15CB have been made manual due to deficiencies in this portal. Filing of TDS returns is also becoming difficult and the old data is not fully available.
Apart from this, a major problem for tax professionals is due to non-working of tax filing software. There are reports that companies making tax software have not yet been authorized on the new income tax portal. Because of this, most of the tax professionals are not able to do their job.
India Post has announced that income tax payers will soon be able to file their tax returns at the post office. However, it is not known whether it will be manual or online. If it is manual then we will go back to the old era of queues for filing tax returns. To do this online, it will be necessary to work properly with the new income tax portal.
The new income tax portal seems to have been launched in haste and without thorough testing. For this, who will take responsibility from the Income Tax Department or Infosys, the software company that made this portal.
The government needs to take this problem seriously and solve it soon as well as take action against those responsible for it.
