Large private sector companies made the most profit

Big Private Sector: Large private sector companies have made the biggest profit in the corporate world in the last few years i.e. big private sector companies have captured a large part of the corporate profit. Due to this there has been a steady increase in profit. On the other hand, due to poor performance of small and public sector companies, she could not make profit and is still struggling. According to the Business Standard news, India’s 20 most profitable companies accounted for about 65 per cent of corporate profits in the first half of 2021-22 (FY22), compared to 62.4 per cent in FY 2011 and FY21 a decade ago. In the year 2012, the share was 52 percent.

This is due to increase in profitability of commodity producers and public sector banks in the last one year. The 20 highest-grossing listed firms reported a combined net profit of Rs 2.49 trillion in the first half of FY22, up 78 per cent from about Rs 1.4 trillion in the first half of FY20. The combined net profit of all 815 companies during the same period increased by 84 per cent to Rs 3.93 lakh crore from Rs 2.14 lakh crore in the first half of FY2011.

RIL highest profit making company

Reliance Industries (RIL) was the most profitable company in the first half of FY 2022 with a net profit of around Rs 26,000 crore. After this, the net profit of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation stood at Rs 24,000 crore and State Bank of India Rs 21,700 crore. Reliance Industries (RIL) has been at the top of the profit charts every year since FY14.

Earlier the state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) was the most profitable company for almost a decade between FY05 and FY13. The top 20 firms accounted for 46 per cent of the total net assets of listed companies in the first half of FY22, down slightly from 46.7 per cent in FY21. Reliance Industries topped the list with a net worth of around Rs 7.42 trillion at the end of the first half of FY 2022.
