State Bank of India (SBI) has opened an ATM at the houseboat in Dal Lake, Srinagar for the convenience of the local people and tourists. The floating ATM was inaugurated by SBI Chairman Dinesh Khare on 16 August. The floating ATM will also add to the charm of Srinagar to meet the long standing need of this area.
SBI said in a tweet that SBI opened an ATM on a houseboat in Dal Lake, Srinagar for the convenience of locals and tourists. It was inaugurated by the Chairman of SBI on 16th August. #FloatingATM in popular Dal Lake will fulfill a long standing need. The country’s top lender said in a tweet to be an added attraction to the attractions of Srinagar.
SBI launched the first floating ATM in Kerala in 2004. This floating ATM of SBI was installed in Jhankar yacht owned by Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC). This ferry runs between Ernakulam and Waypeyan area. SBI’s first floating ATM was launched by Ashok Kay, the then Deputy Managing Director of Mumbai Corporate Centre.
